Photopolymer plates can be categorized to two major categories : Letterpress Plate and FlexographicPlate. Letterpress plate is popular for lable and tube printing. Its advantage is the halftone performance.Offset ink is used with letterpress plate. There are more various applications for flexo plates. We cancategorized to Narrow Web, Carton, Napkin, Linework, Flexible Packaging, Pre Print and Corrugated. We can also categorize by some different features: - Thickness : from 0.95 to 3.94mm. Usually we call 0.95 / 1.14 / 1.7mm as thin plates, and call 2.84 /3.94mm as thick plates. - Hardness : There are various choices for hardness at the same thickness. The different hardnesswill influence the printing performance. Usually softer plates are suitable for lineworkand solid printing; harder plates are for halftone printing. Applying suitable type ofplate is critical for printing performance. - Analog or Digital : The major difference between analog and digital plates is the use of film.
